I know I am horrible at keeping this blog up but with four kids you can't blame me.

I have some updated pictures of the kiddos as they have grown like weeds. Gage is going into middle school in August and Katie is starting kindergarten! Olivia will be in Pre-K and Kolbe is in Second grade.I need to keep myself busy or Roy will want me to go back to work. ;0(

All is well at the house. I have kittens that go to their new homes 4th of July weekend!

I have a biopsy on my cervix tomorrow. I hope all goes well. It brings back weird memories of chemotherapy and uncertain times that I do not want to revisit. I know GOD has a plan set out for me the day I was born but it would be nice to be able to peak every once in a while to see what's ahead.

Well it's not a feeling of winter here in Georgia at all. It seems like the past few years it is getting warmer and warmer. We have hit a few weeks here in the 60's and 70's in February! Of course it does not stay that way. The next day it turns bitter cold and temps drop below freezing. My body can't take too many weeks like this without sending my allergies into chaos. I am thinking of taking stock in NyQuil.

Katie and Olivia are getting along more and more as the days go by. Olivia is starting to speak in full sentences (English). She has become quiet the character in our house. Demanding child! Kolbe and Gage are starting ball in a few weeks. They are practicing about 2 or 3 days a week and the first game is scheduled the second week in March. The kids had winter break this past week and poor Kolbe came down with Strep. My little man was so miserable. It took a good 6 days for his temperature to come down to a normal level. He had the common red rash all over his body and a double ear infection. Fun for me! he camped out in our room for over a week. School is back in session and we are winding down to a normal routine.

The end of April could not get here fast enough. Roy and I are heading to Vegas for 5 days. No kids. This will be weird. I don't know what to do without a child hanging on my leg as I walk by or hearing the phrase "I'm hungry, feed me". Roy has a few meetings the later part of the week so I plan on vegging at the pool for a good base tan. It will be nice not to worry about the kids. Roy's mother is taking off the week we will be gone and stying here at our house so the boys and Katie can still go to school.

Posting a few pictures here shortly from the circus last week. We had awesome seats! Front row center. A clown (main one) kept coming over and hanging out on our ledge. I tried to get Kolbe to wake him up on one of his skits but he was not to sure about a guy in make-up.

A dear friend of mine ask me to post about this boy that really needs a home fast. Below I just copied what she wrote on her blog about him. Please spread the word about this child because he only has a few months for a chance at a family. In China once you turn 14 you no longer qualify to be adopted. He turns 14 in June.

HE NEEDS A FAMILY
This is Grady.He turned 13 years old on June 3rd of this year. On June 3rd of next year, he will age out of China's adoption program and will no longer be eligible for adoption. Sadly, his SWI just submitted his paperwork 2 months ago -which doesn't give him much time to find a family.
You can't see it in this picture, but Grady has scoliosis. It is so severe that is has caused him to be much shorter than he would have been. Apparently he has to place all of his weight on only one of his legs -and we've been told that he cannot feel that side of his body. He walks with crutch like canes....but LONGS to be able to run and play just like other boys his age.
He is living at The Philip Hayden Foundation right now. The people I've emailed with about Grady tell me he is an absolute sweetheart and a great kid. He is desperate to have a family of his own.
I know there are thousands of kids just like Grady, but something about this boy has tugged on all of our hearts here in our home. :) The kids (Andrew and Becca) pray for Grady before every meal and every bed time..without fail. They pray for God to heal his back and for Grady to have a family.
John and I feel the least we can do for this sweet boy is to diligently pray for him and advocate for him. Will you help us do this? Will you join us in praying for Grady? for his back -which will take several surgeries to "fix"? and for the Lord to quickly raise up a family for him?
I'm going to be a bit bold here..would you help us advocate for him too? If you have a blog, would you do a little post about him? or maybe email everyone in your email address list and just let them know that Grady needs prayer and a family? You never know who may see your blog post or read your email and then see Grady's picture and say "oh my! that's my boy!!!"

Sometimes Life throws you a curve ball.....

Sometimes you have to go with what god hands you and make the best out of a horrible situation. There is a couple in China now that was to receive their daughter with correctable special needs last Monday. To adoptive parents it is like the birth of your child. However, Susannah is in critical condition with phenomena causing the heart defect a serious issue. When they arrived at the hospital they were told she was dying. I am in awe that the couple still wants to try and bring her home here for the best care possible. Most adoptive families in this situation would ask for another referral (child) that was not this ill. It warms my heart to know there are wonderful people out there that would walk over hot coals to do what this couple is doing. May the Lord work wonderful miracles for this family. Take a few moments today and visit their site and pray that all is well for them in China and Susannah receives the care she needs to thrive.

I just finished eating an incredible meal. Here is the recipe.

I was at Publix and it was a featured recipe at the store.

Pork Steak Mojito

Ingredients

6 tablespoons olive oil

4 Spanish-style pork cube steaks (about 1 1/2 lb) You will find these at Publix grocery

5 ounces pre-sliced yellow onions(1 cup)

1 teaspoon adobo seasoning (Spanish seasoned salt)

3 fresh garlic cloves

1 lemon (for juice, rinsed)

Steps
1. Preheat large sauté pan on medium-high 2–3 minutes.

Place 2 tablespoons of the oil in pan; swirl to coat.

Add pork steaks (wash hands); cook 3–4 minutes on each side or until browned and internal temperature reaches 160°F. (Use a meat thermometer to accurately ensure doneness.)

Remove from pan and cover to keep warm.

2. Reduce heat to medium; add remaining 4 tablespoons olive oil, onions, and adobo. Crush garlic, using garlic press, into pan. Use knife to remove garlic from bottom of press.

3. Squeeze juice of one-half lemon into pan (about 2 tablespoons). Cook 5–6 minutes or until onions are tender. Serve sauce over pork steaks.

Many have written and given me grief about not posting so here goes. So much has happened since April I do not know where to begin.

School is out and all four kiddos are home 24/7 with mom. Dad is putting extra hours in at work with the way the economy is. Kolbe has graduated pre-k and is off to kindergarten this fall! He was so cute at graduation. Never has he stood in front of a large crowd and opened his mouth, however I was lucky enough to hear him sing and act goofy at graduation. Gage finished 3rd grade with all A's last report card. He really great this year. Katie is adjusting well to having a little sister. She is having a few more outburst. It could be the age or the change it's tough to say, she has always been the drama queen of the family and I guess she still wants to compete for the title. She finished 2 yr pre-k with excelling in most of the areas taught. I hope next year she learns to play better with others. not sure if this was an issue or if it was because mom was in her room.

is doing great and gaining ground on Katie rather quickly. She has gained almost 4 pounds sine she has been home. Her and Katie are sharing the same clothes now. This girl can tan let me tell you. I am so envious! I thought I got dark quick? Not compared to this child. She is now in a big girl bed and sleeping through the night without wondering around her room or trying to climb in bed with Katie. She is smart as a tack this child picks up lots and in no time she will be gibber jabbering up a storm. We do not hear her say much because we have 2 translators living in the house (Kolbe and Katie) that caters to her every whim.

Last week we received the newest of the family. Cache, a Doberman puppy. She is about 14 weeks old and sweet as sugar. The kids can climb all over this 30 pound puppy and she loves every minute. I'm not sure if I posted back in April that we lost Gretchen (our female boxer age 11) to old age. Stokley is getting slow as his hips are really taking a toll on him. We started him on Glucosamine (sp) in hopes that it will ease his pain some. We have not introduced the puppy to him formally. They have greeted each other through the fence and Stokley just perks up so nicely.

5 weeks and counting

It's hard to believe it has only been 5 or so weeks since Olivia arrived home. She has adjusted really well. I took her to the Pediatrician and she is doing great. We have a doctors appointment next week with a GI specialist to see how her blood count is. Katie is ecstatic that she has a little sister to share her room with. She is not so happy about sharing her toys. Kolbe is doing well with the adjustment off another baby on the house. Olivia has really opened up to everyone here at home and at school. She fits into her class and does fine without mommy. She understands everything I ask or tell her to do and even has made an effort to talk to me in English. Just like most two year old's she does better showing you what she wants rather than speaking. I can put anything in front of her and she just about eats it. She thinks its time to eat the moment her feet hit the floor in the morning just like Katie and Kolbe. Roy is in love with his little Livi! She runs up to daddy every afternoon when he comes in from work and laughs and plays with him until dinner is ready. It seems our family is complete! At least for now :0) I don't know if I could juggle 5!?

Good Morning!

It has been a quick few days. Sorry for not posting as much as I need to. My mornings are getting shorter because I am sleeping a little longer and my nights are late due to catching up on calls to home. Olivia is fine and her tantrums are getting more bearable for me. It's the stares that I get more than anything. I try to lay her down for a long nap in the mid morning so her tantrums usually start about 5pm.

Yesterday we were grounded to our room until noon so if there was any questions that the consulates office had I could answer them. Well they had some questions!!!! I had to go to the consulate's office and resign some paperwork that I did incorrectly at home so most of my day was shot. Livi stayed with Suzanne and Bella back at the hotel. She slept the whole time I was gone so this was a blessing to Suzanne and Bella's ears. I did get to stop by the Jaguar and Rover dealership for some quick pictures for Roy. I also saw one of Cathy's FAVORITE stores, IKEA!! Took a picture wish I had time to stop. I know they decent food there!

We went shopping on the island last night for some thing s on our list and ate at Lucy's to lay it on the safe side for food. We did catch the Cantonese restaurant before I went to the consulate's office and had sweet and sour chicken. Brought back memories.

Today I met up with our group for a gift swap and pictures at the White Swan hotel. The buffet was nearly $30USD to eat breakfast so we skipped this.

Olivia was less than cooperative but I did manage to get a few good pictures. We have our swearing in ceremony this afternoon at 4pm. So she will soon be a American Citizen and cleared to come home.

Wow what a good night sleep, soft bed and some good old fashion meds make/1 I slept more last night than a few nights combined. My bed in the new room is so comfortable. My back does not hurt and I'm even of thinking about trying some food here today. I'm not sure what kind of illness I had yesterday but it was not fun. I think the food at the Cow and Bridge led to a little food poisoning. I was miserable. The one day we had lots to do. I had the physical exam for Olivia, Visa pictures and tons of paper work to fill out. I lived but went to bed before 8:30pm. I felt like Super Woman this morning. Ready to conquer the Jade and Pearl Markets!

We met up with our group staying the the Annex building of the Victory for breakfast and then headed to the Pearl/Jade market. Donna, Erin,Suzanne,Bella,Olivia and I started ahead of everyone else. We planned to meet the rest of the group at a souvenir shop mid afternoon. Well Olivia decided about 1pm to start her daily tantrum. Nothing would calm her down. It didn't bother me as much to see her pitch the 2 yr old I wanna go here now tantrum as it did, make me feel the people around me wondering what was wrong with her and why are you not doing something about this. Many people came up and tried things like, water, tea, candy, talking but she wanted to leave and move right then and there. I took her to the bathroom and she went but the tantrum continued. She finally conked out 5 minutes before we had to catch a cab to meet the rest of the group. I bargained on some pearls but the jade I just didn't see any I liked today. We plan on going back later this week. I also talked to Emma and Leila about going to HK for a trip to Disney but I can't get Olivia out/in without a special visa. So it looks like Disney in Hong Kong is out. For $38USD I couldn't help but ask.

Our plans for tomorrow is to visit the largest mall in the world. It should take us about 1 hour each way to get there and back. It has a roller coaster in it and many different shops. I can't leave until noon but we look forward to going.

Olivia and I are relaxing her at the hotel this evening. Just a few more days until we get ready to pack for home.

Sorry about the lack of posting the last couple of days. I had gotten sick after arriving in Guangzhou. I think it was food poisoning. I was miserable. Feeling like superwoman today. Olivia had a hard time at the clinic getting her exam. She laid on the floor and pitched the largest fit i have ever seen. I did not try to much to console her because I was afraid I might have a virus and if she got sick it would not be a pretty site at all. My back hurts still but i was in so much pain I could hardly walk. I finally told Emma and Leila that I needed to change rooms to get a softer mattress. They told me there were no softer mattresses. We checked out and then viewed another suite with a Japanese style bed which was way softer (Georgian) than the one I had slept on for the last 8+ days. I woke up this morning after a normal nights sleep (8+ hours) feeling great. My back does not hurt near as bad and I hope to make it all day just fine. I will try and post some pics later this afternoon. I did not take any since I got here.

Well the honeymoon is defiantly over. Olivia is a bright humorous child but a handful. She was the center of attention most of the day with her antics. We celebrated her 2nd birthday this evening and the cake was really really good. I of course had my usual vegetable fried rice and french fries (good healthy diet food) and Olivia picked and chose off her plate. I do have a picky eater here and she will be in for a shocker when she gets home to find that she does not have a wide selection to choose off the Hardin menu.

Today was a lazy free day for us. We all decided to catch a few of the local attractions but we lost 1/2 of our group. the Hume's and I headed to the Tengwang (sp) Pavilion while the McNew's and Emma took for the Porcelain Streets. We enjoyed seeing a little of the history here in Nanchang. after this we headed for the Porcelain district by cab. I looked at several shops but did not "bid" on anything. Later that afternoon the girls were hungry and tired so we headed back. We ate at a local restaurant with Emma this evening. All 10 of us ate an entire meal for the total of 12 USD! COOL!!!!

I settled in early and tried to sleep as late as I could but was up at 6. I am trying to get some last minute things bought before we head to Guangzhou Friday afternoon. I forgot my camera so I do not have any pictures for you yet.

I miss everyone terribly.

Going back to FengCheng for the second time really hit home. I took tons of pictures both coming and going. When we arrived in FengCheng we met up with one of the directers at a local shopping center to buy some donated items. we were of course the talk of the store and were followed by several paparatzi. After leaving the shopping center we headed to FengCheng SWI. Thing shave changed closer to the SWI since 2005. Many more newer building have been completed and several other buildings have been torn down or abandoned. I knew right were i was just like I was there yesterday. As we drove through the gates of the SWI my eyes filled with tears to see that there was a banner welcoming us there. It was truly something I did not expect. As were exited the car I saw Olivia FM and quickly ran over to give her hugs and kisses for caring so well for this 6yr old trapped in a 2yr olds body. I was able to give her the gifts I had brought for her in person which meant lots. Olivia finally realized she was there and ran over to her FM. I insisted that she take her and pick her up for the love she needed and a final goodbye. If this was going to set us back that was fine. It was worth the attitude. We enterd an old familuar room where we sat just 2 1/2 years ago. I was presented with a plaque that was a symbol of FengCheng. I asked if they had recieved the photos that I mailed of Katie, but they had not recieved them. We left shortly after this for luch with 4 gentleman from the SWI and asked some questions to the FM's about the daily life of our children. I was granted the privialge to eat with them and this is a day I would never forget. Olivia cried just for a few moments after the FM left and by the time we were in the van it was like nothing happened.

long story short, with all the drama yesterday I did not check the decree and it seems they listed her American name as Oliver Erin-Ke Hardin. I did not catch the mistake until today and then I had to repay them for correcting their mistake. She is now Olivia erin-Ke Hardin. talk about a tease at school. poor thing.

Night and Day

What a differance a day makes! Yesterday was very tramatic to say the least for Olivia and I. A child that is unconsolable and just plain ticked off. She got sick on the bed shortly after getting back to the room and Emma (guide) helped me clean her up and remove what remaining clothes that she had on. Not easy! She advised me to give her a bath and redress her. Bathtime was not a walk in the park. I tried dressing her in clothes i brought but she inssited on putting her old clothes on. We compremized and I let her wear her socks. We walked through the hotel where she wanted to go not me. we later came back to the room and she stood in the corner by the mirror adn she just stared at me. Of course I ignored her and went about my business. She later squated down and then popped up to tell me and show me she peed on the floor. Momma Jen is to smart for this so I explained and showed her that her pull up was wet not her nor the floor. She since then has held all her tee tee until we get to the hotel to sit on her potty which is simular to a ride toy straddling this but no wheels. I have to buy one of these and bring it back. I think hte preschool would so use this with ease. Shee peed 2 times today and pooped in the potty!!!! YEAH! She is all smiles and we get along great. She feeds herself, tries putting on her shoes and eats better with chopsticks than me. I thouhgt for the longest that Katie was stubborn but I met someone that will challange my every move. Whatch out Austin the female match will be in America soon. Oh my. all good of course!!! We love Auzzie. She will give all the kids at the pre school a run for their money. Her favorite word now is Dhat, ewhich means short of I want. I see her favorite word in English coming will be mine.

One odd moment after we ate today at the dumpling house, she was restless and the others were not quit done gathering ther things so we went outside to wait. A older lady in her mid 50's approached me. It seemed she must have had a stroke or partial loss of her left side of her face. I thnk she was a begger of sorts. She insisted and tried taking Olivia out of my arms. i quickly and firmly told her BOO, which is no. Monty (fellow travel mate) came outside and I stood by him like a child to a father. She finally left me alone. I could see giving temporary custody to Olivia to Donna and Monty while I faced battery charges here in China on this woman. Lots more to tell but it is really late (12) and I have an early morning. We are visiting the orphange in the morning . A 2 hr ride each way. I am posting pics which takes a good bit of time. again remember I can not see what I post so if I double post the same things it's jetlag and sleep deprivation. i wake up at 4 am in the morning for some reason. Oh and I took Olivia to the clinic for her runny nose adn congestion and let me tell you they are a rip off big time. Can you believe for the office visit and 2 prescriptions they wanted 7 USD! LOVE IT!!!!

This afternoon was quiet a moment. Poor Olivia was scared, mad and sad all wrapped up in one. Out of the 3 babies today mine was the one who stood her ground. She cried, fussed and refused things. She already has the 2 yr old tantrums and everything is mine attitude so it looks like poor Katie will have a run for her money. After we made it to the hotel I removed her 3 layers of think Eskimo clothing to find not 1 but 2 notes and lucky baby money. This is something I never had with Katie and beings things to a close more so for Olivia. We laid on the bed and ate bear crackers and jelly beans. She finally took some water from me. With all the trauma she got sick on her clothes and bed sheets (mine) so I bathed her and dressed her again, putting her shoes on to walk out the door and she squats. "Uh oh" she said thinking she peed on the floor, but mom is to smart for that. Ha, I put a pull up on her. So she mainly wanted to go where is she wanted to go on our walk and when we arrived back in our room she sat undressed on the potty for some time. She did not want to leave it. If I had a potty that had a bear face on it I guess I wouldn't want to leave it either.

i think today will be a better day. As Melissa told me once "You just don't give up do you Jen". NOPE!

Labor Pains

Less than an hour before I make that long and dangerous walk across the street to the Civil Affairs office. It's been over 2 years since we made that long elevator ride with Katie in our arms to finalize the adoption and now we are here again to bring another special gift home. Words can not describe the feeling that is rushing through my body. I had Roy to keep me calm at home and also last time but not today. I pray that the transition goes well for Olivia and she does not grieve to much. I know the pain that her foster mother feels today. I hope to send a package before I leave China to her and express our appreciation for all that she has done for Olivia over the last 2 years.

03-14 Get passport in the A.M. and leave for Guangzhou.

the schedule could change slightly from day to day. We shuld arrive in Guangzhou sometime after 2pm. This is the last part of the trip to finalize things with the US Consulate's office.

Well it’s been a long ride but a good one. 30 + hours and I finally made it to CHINA!!! I arrived a little earlier than expected. I was pleasantly surprised by meeting a couple in my travel group on the flight in from Tokyo. The Maki’s are a wonderful couple and I look forward to getting to know them better next week when I return to Guangzhou for the last leg of the journey. There was also news from another travel family; the Strouts were delayed in Texas due to the snow storm. They were not sure if they would be able to catch a flight to China until late next week but was successful in getting a flight here late Sunday/Monday.
I was able to settle into the Novotel Hotel and make some quick calls home before going to bed. I did not get much sleep, I think I was worried about missing my flight to Nanchang this morning. The hotel was wonderful and I seem to be the main attraction at the breakfast buffet. I was thinking that I might have had something on my face or shirt by the looks of it. If I could only read adult minds. ?Hmmmmm? The airports are ran much differently here. I had to get my ticket one place, check my oversized/weighted luggage one place, pay for the overweight luggage another place and then run back to get my ticket after paying for the overage. It seems like I have lost weight after all that!
I should arrive in Nanchang around 2 A.M. Georgia time and settle in. I feel a Wal-Mart run in my near future before settling in early for a Great Day tomorrow (GOTCHA DAY) .
I still have no clue when Olivia will arrive tomorrow and not real sure about where. We met the officials from the orphanage in 2005 at the hotel but we could meet them at the Provincial Capital. As soon as I find out I will post the new schedule.
I sure do miss everyone at home. I spoke with Roy this morning and it seems my little man has missed me the most so far (not Roy, but Kolbe). I’m considering changing his name to “Dennis the Menace”. He gave Ms. Cathy a run for her money Friday after school. Roy was pretty upset after hearing how he was. I told him to love my little man and he will be better in a few days. Gage did well at Lisa’s yesterday and Katie is just Katie. You can take her anywhere and she adapts.

I would really like to thank Cathy and Lisa for taking the steps in caring for my babies while Roy is working this week and next. THANK YOU!!!! Thanks Cathy for helping me update my blog. I have been having trouble getting online to update my blog so Ms. Cathy you might need to copy and paste my postings with pics I send you. Your and Angel!!!! Lisa you are one brave woman to take care of my kids with the house up for sale. I have such wonderful friends my eyes are filled with tears as I write this. My family, friends and the church has been so good to me. I am truly blessed in many ways.

Hey Everyone,

Jen has landed safely in China and is catching up on sleep. Today is a free day, so she is headed for Walmart. She still doesn't have internet connection, so I will do a little updating here untill she is online. She is tired but sounds good. Kolbe and Katie had a great day at school. We had a dentist come to the Friendly Fireflies. Everybody got a goodie bag with tooth brush, tooth paste and floss. They all know how to brush and floss and are very excited.

Well we finally have our travel itinerary. Roy has decided to stay home with the kids while I embark on the final leg of this adoption. Here is my schedule.

March 6th Leave Atlanta at 8:25 a.m.
March 7th Arrive in Guangzhou 10:30 p.m.(11:30 a.m. Atl time)Stay overnight at Novotel
March 8th Leave Guangzhou at 12:20 p.m. for Nanchang. Arriving at 1:45pm. Free day
March 9th GOTCHA DAY!!!!! This is the day I will have Olivia in my arms.
Complete paperwork that evening
March 10th Appointment with the provincial officials to finalize Olivia's adoption and prepare
for her passport for traveling to Guangzhou, China.
March 11th Free day. This is the day to visit the orphanage (if it is allowed by the local
officials). I would get to travel to FengCheng City about a 90 minute ride by car.
I am in hopes of this because this is where both Olivia and Katie are from.
March 12th Another free day unless we have all the paperwork processed and the passports
are available for pickup. This is usually the 3rd day after the adoption is finalized
but we could have them by the evening of the 12th.
March 13th Should arrive in Guangzhou in the afternoon.
March 14th Free day
March 15th Free day. Olivia will most likely have the PolyClinic appointment that afternoon.
March 16th Finalize all US Embassy paperwork for Visa home.
March 17th Happy Saint Patrick's Day!!!! US Embassy Appointment
March 18th Oath - swearing in for Olivia's American Citizenship. Passport/Visa's delivered.
March 19th Free day - most likely travel for the day to Hong Kong

It seems the closer it gets the longer it takes. Our group was hoping for a "TA" word before Chinese New Year but it did'nt happen. So it looks like the earliest we will hear anything will be the week of the 18th. With this in mind we could still possibly travel at the end of the month if the agency gets a quick response (same day) on an exit interview. This is the final appointment for us to leave China. This determines what Olivia will have a temporary citizenship or a full citizenship. As it looks now, Roy will spend 1/2 the trip with me and Olivia should be able to come home on a complete Visa but if the paperwork is wrong for some reason and we need to redo a form and use the power of attorney then she will come home on a temporary visa and we have to readopt. Just pray this does not happen. Gage is getting excited and ready to leave and Kolbe is getting use to the idea of spending some time with some of his friends while mom and dad are away. Katie could care less.

We recieved our Letter of acceptance this past week on Olivia. Looks like we will be heading to China in the next 5 weeks. If CNY holds the Travel Announcement from comming as quickly as they have been it could be 6 weeks. So now we must scury around like little ants collecting up this and that. Our first big this is to get our money in order and make sure we have new bills. I traveled to our local branch this week to ask about ordering new money from the federal reserve. They do not do it now. How fun is this? Hmmm let's see not! I have to get our Visa's sent off for processing and a few other documents to havve notorized. Other than this we are hoping to be prepared for a 2 week notice.

I would never make it as a party planner

I have come to realization that the profession of a party planner is not for me. I helped my girlfriend plan her son's party last summer, which we were in a drought here in Georgia. What happened? We planned a pool party and it rained! Okay better yet, Katie's 3rd birthday party was scheduled for yesterday at 4p.m. and what happened? It SNOWED!!! So as it seems we will have a party at a local fast food restaurant with a playground during the week. If all goes well we could be traveling in the next 4 to 6 weeks. So I do not have time to reschedule Katie's gymnastics party for another weekend, plan Kolbe's 5th birthday party and still have enough brain cells left to make sure we have everything in order before we leave.

I finally talked Roy into getting Gage a passport so it looks like he will be going with us to China. I really think this will be a learning experience for him that he will never forget. I hope that it will tone down his wants and curb his "it's all about Gage" syndrome. I am working on making sure he minds his mouth in China. I told him to keep his opinions to himself and no public outbursts on what the food looks or tastes like. i have a feeling his pocket money will be gone in a 48 hour period so I think Roy and I are going to give him a daily limit and if there is anymore left he can carry it over to the next day. I hope this will trigger his brain to want to keep the money in his pocket for something really big at the end of the trip when we are in Guangzhou.

I think we might get some good news this coming week and we also received some updates on Ke Ke this past week. She is only 4 or 5 pounds lighter than Katie and less than 6 inches shorter than her too! Talk about twins. HA it's comical because I wanted Roy to agree on asking for twins in 2004/2005 process but he couldn't see that happening. So I guess God does have his own plans for you and sometimes those plans include the things you asked for most.

We have a picture and a few updates for you all. We received some updates this afternoon through our agency that used another source for updates (CCAA updates are taking 2 + months). Lets see where to begin, she is HEALTHY !!!!! SHE IS POTTY TRAINED ALREADY!!! Her weight is about 20.5 pounds and 2.6 feet tall. She loves crackers and not so much fruit. She plays well with children and smiles alot. She is shy around strangers. She loves to watch TV (made Gage's day). She grabs things from others that she sees a need for (hmmm a 2 year old, I have that same problem in my class). We still hope to have her home before her 2nd birthday in March. We are happy she is growing and thriving there until then.
